Alpine Adventure: Bespoke catered and self-catered chalet holidays in Morzine since 2008.
Alpine Adventure is a small, family company owned and run by Mark and Emma Hughes. We left our lives in London in 2008, spent a year painstakingly restoring our 300 year old home “La Vieille Ferme de la Moussiere”, opened our doors to our first guests the following Christmas and have never looked back. (You can read more about the renovations.)
Our move to France represented a complete lifestyle change for us and whilst we never forget how lucky we are to live in this amazing part of the mountains we still remember the fast-paced, crazyness of corporate city life. We know what we were looking for when we got the chance to escape for a week’s holiday; and we hope that we can offer something similar to you.
We are passionate lovers of the mountains – both in the winter for skiing and in the summer for running, biking, hiking and adventure sports. We hope to make you feel really welcome in Morzine and to introduce you to some of the treasures that we have found in this beautiful corner of the world
There are hundreds of great ski-chalets out there but we want to show you why you should choose ours! Our philosophy is simple – we want to provide a holiday base that feels like home whilst at the same time making sure that you are really really well looked after.
We offer all of the little luxuries that you might expect from a great ski chalet: ensuite bedrooms, spacious rooms, hot-tubs, log fires and steam rooms; plasma tvs, media centres, wifi and games consoles; bathrobes and slippers, complimentary toiletries .. but we also go that extra mile to make our holidays stand out. We really care about the little home and business that we have created here in Morzine, and about the people who visit it, and we want everyone to return home with great memories of their stay with us…and hopefully to come back and see us again in the future.
We understand that everyone is looking for something slightly different from their holiday and therefore we tailor-make everything to suit you and truly are completely flexible in the holidays that we offer. Short breaks, extended stays, fully catered, bed & breakfast, adrenaline-fuelled adventure or relaxed pampering … anything is possible with Alpine Adventure.
From the moment that you first contact us we take the time to get to know you and find out exactly what you want from your holiday. You are never just a name to us and many of our previous guests have returned time and time again and become great family friends. We can arrange your airport transfers and ski lessons, collect your lift passes for you, negotiate great discounts on ski-equipment and recommend the best child-care solutions for your family. We also do our best to fulfil any more unusual requests that you might have and can arrange things like candle-lit meals on the mountain, husky dog sled riding, helicopter rides and ice-diving. For first time skiers we can guide you through the preperations and planning of your epic first skiing holiday and for the intermediates and pros we can show you where to find the perfect powder and where to head to get the most out of your trip if any bad weather rolls in.
All of our chalet menus are lovingly crafted by Mark. He spends literally hundreds of hours throughout the year trying out new ingredients and flavour combinations; tasting and tweaking until he’s happy with the dishes on offer. We only use high-quality ingredients and source products locally and seasonally wherever possible. Little things like offering fresh milk (not long-life), home-making all of our own sauces, chutneys and dressings; baking our cakes, croissants and desserts daily in-house and using fresh not frozen produce add an extra bit of sparkle to our already delicious menus.
Our staff are our most valued asset and we carefully select our team to ensure that they have the same values, enthusiasm and experience as we do. Friendly and knowledgable, they will help with any requests that you have once in Morzine and work tirelessly to maintain the first class levels of customer service that our guests have come to expect. We live in Morzine year-round and take a very hands-on approach to running the chalets: cooking, driving, hosting, cleaning and keeping on top of the mountains of admin! We are therefore only ever a few minutes away should you need any help from us.
We are always on the look out for experienced, reliable and motivated chalet staff, chefs and drivers. If you are interested in working for Alpine Adventure and spending a ski season in Morzine please contact us by email enquiries@alpine-adventure.co.uk for further information.
